Wrapping up September: Important News to Share

SCHOOL BOARD CANDIDATE SCREENING:

A screening committee, made up of EPEA members in partnership with the Minneapolis Regional Labor Federation, spent time with three of the five candidates running for board seat vacated by Director Veronia Stoltz. Two candidates--Darryl Stanton and Albert Born--chose not to engage in the process. After reviewing pre-screening surveys, analyzing responses to live questions, and conducting further research into backgrounds, the EPEA is proud to endorse Michelle Mattison as Eden Prairie School's next school board member. Ms. Mattison comes to the table with a well-rounded set of skills, education, perspectives, and personal communication style that will well serve the Eden Prairie students, community, and staff into the future. Ms. Mattison's leadership experiences highlight her commitment to all stakeholders. Her skills and experience provide a solid foundation for productive, healthy, and equity-minded board discussions. In addition, Ms. Mattison's career and experiences serve as evidence of her passion and needed perspective toward a positive trajectory of our school district. Please encourage your Eden Prairie friends/family to check Michelle Mattison as their best choice on November 2nd.

An opportunity to view the League of Women Voters School Board Forum featuring all 5 candidates is available to view on Wednesday, September 29th at 6pm. Streaming video is available at EPTV, at edenprairie.org/CityTV, and facebook.com/CityOfEdenPrairie.
