Happy Week 2, All! I hope you are finding your groove with your new year's schedule! There are a few timely items below I wanted to place in front of you. Please note the dates provided:
YOUR FEEDBACK NEEDED: ESSRIII Money: The "third pot" of one-time-only federal funds that are coming to the district ($6Million) MUST have feedback from all stakeholders as to how to spend that money. The emphasis of these ESSRIII monies should be on student learning, learning loss recovery, and resources to support learning recovery during and in years after the pandemic. All money must be used by 2024, but the plan for how to use the money is due before 2022. This means the district must urgently solicit our educator feedback as to where the money is to be allocated and what resources are needed to support student learning. So.... click below to be taken directly to the feedback opportunity. The deadline is Monday, Sept. 20th @ 8PM. Flex your educator muscle with your professional feedback, suggestions, resource needs, etc!
COMMITTEE MEMBERS NEEDED: EP ONLINE and WORKLOAD MOUs: EPEA Members, according to our new MOUs, we will hold collaborative meetings with the district to discuss the topics, suggestions, concerns and/or inner details of both the EP Online and Workload topics. Now is the time to solicit interest in either committee. Please email Dominic Kirkpatrick with your interest in being on the one of the committees--please indicated on which committee you would like to serve. (October, January, March meetings). Committees will be formed by the end of September. Email> Dominic Kirkpatrick with your interest.
EPEA Website Access Hint In order to access the member-only pages on the EPEA website, you need two pieces of information: - Your personal email address - Your employee number (password) All EPEA members have been pre-loaded with access to the member's only tabs with those 2 pieces of data. School Board Candidates: For this November's election, Eden Prairie Schools will have two vacancies. Veronica Stolz left her position to move out of state last spring with her family. Very soon, Beth Fletcher will follow suit; although, the timing of Fletcher's official last day is not yet known. Therefore, Eden Prairie residents will vote for one candidate this November and there will be another election August or November 2022. The School Board Screening Committee will be communicating their findings after the Sept. 23rd event. Stay tuned for this news before heading to the polls. Check out who is running for School Board
Government Relations News: $29Million of the governor's allocation of the ARP money will go to Minnesota's public school districts to help recover from
the enrollment dollars lost during the 2020-2021 school year. EPS suffered some enrollment loss to private schools; therefore, EPS will receive a small portion of that dedicated money to help in the areas most affected.
